IX Reach connects Italian network Redder as first remote peer at UAE-IX

IX Reach, the wholesale network solutions provider, has become the very first partner to connect a network to UAE-IX.

Redder, an Italian telephony and Internet service provider specializing in offering high-quality business-to-business solutions, remotely connected from Europe to the exchange via IX Reach's infrastructure. The Italian network additionally connected to DE-CIX New York and expanded their peering agreements earlier in the year by connecting to DE-CIX’s Frankfurt site – adding to the growing list of Internet exchanges they have connected to in the last year.

The addition of UAE-IX makes a hat trick for Redder, as they become the first customer to peer remotely at the three Internet exchanges in Frankfurt, New York and Dubai. Adding these additional exchanges has allowed Redder to increase its direct and low-latency data transport with European, US and Arab peer networks within local marketplaces, enabling their customers to enjoy a faster and more reliable service.

Rebecca Stanić, Market Development Manager at IX Reach, commented, "Remote peering is an excellent solution for networks such as Redder requiring quick expansion – it enables near-instant network growth at one or more Internet exchanges and delivers all the benefits of peering, without the hassle of securing colocation at the IXPs or the deployment of extra infrastructure."
